Kathleen & Chris

Our Home

Kathleen purchased our current home when we were dating (she is a true 21st century lady!) Chris moved in after the wedding. We live in a great neighborhood close to the lake, schools, parks and all the action!

We have friendly neighbors and there are several babies in our building. Our plan is to upgrade to a larger home once we have a child. Kathleen loves to garden and can’t wait to have a huge backyard. We always have amazing flowers and a pretty nice vegetable garden!

We spend a lot of time outdoors. We have a TV on the back porch and it seems like we are always entertaining at our home - which we love.

Kathleen’s Favorite Memories

One of my favorite childhood memories is driving to Canada each August for 2 fun-filled weeks of fishing and boating. My entire family would pile into the station wagon for the long drive.  We always stayed at the same “campground,” but Mom’s idea of camping was a carpeted 2-story cabin complete with TV and a dishwasher!  Many years later, our family reunited at the cabin to celebrate my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. I also have very fond memories of vacationing in Mexico each year for spring break. I love the water!

My parents were very generous and loving. They believed that travel was the greatest form of education, and gave all three of their kids the opportunity to study abroad during college. My sister and I traveled around the world together to five of the seven continents. I have always appreciated that experience and hope to give my children the same opportunity one day. I have so many great memories of my childhood. I can't wait to create memories with our children!

Chris’s Favorite Memories

As a child, I spent many weekends at my grandparents’ home. All my aunts, uncles, and cousins would gather together to eat, play games and have fun.

A special treat was for all the kids to spend the night and help my grandfather prepare breakfast the next morning. Whether it was pouring the orange juice, buttering the toast, or setting the table, we always had fun and looked forward to our sleepovers.

Another special memory I have is going to West Virginia each year. We have a family reunion every year in West Virginia at Pipestem State Park, which is the most beautiful place on earth to me.  Family comes from all around the country to vacation there.  We play games, swim, go on hikes, play golf and spend a  lot of time catching up.

The fanciest restaurant in the town is the Dairy Queen and it is right on the river.  It’s low keyed and so much fun! Memories are always shared as well as new ones created every year.  I will never forget these events from my childhood and look forward to it each year.
